About Me

Hi, my name is Maïa or Meows. I’ve always found introductions difficult, perhaps because of my indecisive nature or because I am unsure what I should say without saying too much or practically nothing at all.

My name is Maïa, but my internet name is Meows. I am not a web designer or coder by any means, just a novice trying something new. You can tell I am not great at coding, because my site is constantly in disarray! This stuff is difficult! I only started taking coding or at least neocities seriously in December of 2023 despite having my website since 2022. The reason I have a website is because I wanted a place to display my art and interests and make them mine. I got inspired to try neocities again because of a friend I met recently!

I am a Taurus sun, Scorpio moon, and a Virgo rising. My absolute favourite colour is purple and I love guinea pigs and cats. I am a pretty shy person who doesn't like to share too many details about myself and I'm not fond of labels (for myself). According to a test I took a long time ago, I am an INFJ. I'm pretty lovey dovey and a tad bit eccentric to some. I can't help but ramble uncontrollably when I am comfortable. I am horrendous at spelling. I am equally loving as I am miserable. I can be quite gloomy, macabre, and bitter. I am extremely passionate about what I believe in. I am a bit of a shut in and a bit of a basketcase. I like gossip as long as it doesnt involve me, and I enjoy poking and peaking into random sectors of the internet. I dream of living in a large field in a quant house with tons of guinea pigs. I like making friends on the internet and I have a horrible sleep schedule.

Some random things about me:
I have a belly button piercing that I pierced myself years ago with a needle way too small.
I also have a nose piercing I did myself in my bathroom with a needle way too large.
I am allergic to guinea pigs despite loving them so fervently
I can hula hoop for 35 minutes straight
I have horrible eyesight (-9.00 in both eyes)
I drank a cup of white vinegar one time for a dollar?
I'm 5'4
I got my shoulder bitten by a donkey and my lover had to rip me from its mouth
I'm afraid of turtles

I am majoring in Zoology, but my true passion is writing. I have always loved writing and I do some crafting and “photoshopping” as well. I wouldn't say I’m particularly strange or esoteric, I think that depends on your perception. I hope while you traverse my page you can decide what you think, just don't think something silly!

I love kitchy, tacky, sexy, wacky things. I love sweet scents and tender touches. I love cute animals and tiny trinkets. I love calico critters and fuzzy blankets. I love the smell of fresh rain and the way the pulse bulges beneath the skin. I love the way sex feels with someone you love, I love the way words sound from someone you adore. I love perversion and erotica. I love the rush sensuality gives. I love lichen on trees and mushrooms nestled in dirt. I love how rabbits make burrows and and how good change hurts. I love love. I love loving. I love collecting silly things. I love writing, I love reading, I love learning, I love listening. I love tea. I love it when people can be authentically themselves. I love when after I watch a really good movie I just want to die. I love the small beauty of life, I love the way we never stop changing. I love sweets. I love savory food. I love earnestness. I love it when people can love without being afraid. I love seashells. I love pens. I love buttons. I love how eyes look. I love planets and Venus but I'm indifferent on Mars. I love that good will and faith will always prevail even in the worst. Even when I’m scared and this world decays, when we all return to the Earth and it crumbles again and again, I love this life and I’m glad we could meet.

I've always gravitated towards the internet and have traversed this digital landscape since I was a grubby child, spending hours playing on my computer. I don't have any nostalgia for the old web because I haven't experienced it, but I do miss the times I spent on my computer as a kid. I love cool and intricate websites and think self-expression and customization are awesome.

I'm not big on social media, it became an intrinsic part of my life when I was a teenager, but as I've grown I've become jaded and disillusioned with it all. I just like having my space to learn and create and maybe meet a cool stranger here and there.
